If you live in the Melbourne Palm Bay area or if you are planning to move here you know it gets a little warm here during the summer months.
Guess what the best way to cool off is?
That’s right, and we have a top notch aquatic center right here in Palm Bay. Some people, my wife Jean included, prefer a pool instead of the beach because there’s no sand at the pool.
The Palm Bay Aquatic Center is great fun for children and adults alike. I feel like a kid when my wife Jean lets me go down the cool, enclosed slide.
Besides a large enclosed slide the Aquatic Center offers a zero depth entry area, children’s water play toys including large squirt guns, a teaching area, 25 yard lap lanes, and two 1-meter diving boards.
The Aquatic Center is even a nice place to just sit and relax and enjoy the day. There is plenty of furniture lay back on and large umbrellas to sit under.
The Aquatic Center also offers programs such as swimming lessons, exercise classes, lifeguard training, and you can even rent out part or all of the facility for your own special party.
The open swim fee is $1.50 for adults and $1 for children. Now where can you get cheaper recreation than that? You can’t even go get an ice cream for that cheap.
So get the kids ready, pack up the car and let’s go have some fun at the Palm Bay Aquatic Center. Come spend an hour or two or spend the whole day here.
The Palm Bay Aquatic Center is located at the Brevard Community College Palm Bay Campus, 420 Community College Parkway SE, Palm Bay. The hours of operation vary depending on the season, holidays and swim team meets.
You can check their website for hours or to call and reserve the pool for parties.
